I recently built a new PC based on the Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7, as this is a pretty new motherboard I figured I’d try and update the BIOS/UEFI to the latest version. Unfortunately it seems the Q-Flash utility for doing this doesn’t work properly (at least not for me). This should work by downloading the relevant files onto a FAT32 formatted USB drive, restarting the computer, launching Q-Flash by pressing the End key at startup, navigating to the files on the USB and loading them. What actually happened for me was I could navigate to the files on the USB in Q-Flash but when I tried to load them it threw a “Can’t read file” error. The way I got around this was by installing “App Centre” and then “@BIOS” from the support page for the motherboard, downloading the latest BIOS file and then using the “@BIOS” utility to update the BIOS.
